We Have a Firm Date--6 May 2017! 1 March 2017

I made my last Mission Fund donation today!  1/6th of 2017 has already gone by--which is not a bad thing in my life, as it brings me closer to home and Sweetheart.  But still it is a bit of a shock.

My Sweetheart checked at work this morning and his new request for time off has been approved--so instead of waiting until 20 May, we will marry 6 May in the St. Louis Temple.  I was able to request that date today via a call to the temple, and have not gotten any word back that it will not work.  The person I talked to did not seem to feel authorized to change the date from 20 May to 6 May on her own, but we suspect there is little reason to be concerned that we cannot have that date. We are both delighted to move the date up two weeks, and it seems that family may find that to be helpful also.

I got to the Library a tad later than usual, but in time to hear a spiritual experience that one of the missionaries had many years ago.  I also decided to stay for the in-service lesson presented by another trainer who had some interesting insights on searching Google--and I found the death certificate for my grandfather which confirmed that although he died of pneumonia following the break of a major bone, the underlying cause was cancer.  I am glad that he was spared the pain and misery that cancer caused back in the early 1960s.

I was scheduled as Helper for two hours and after filling in as Monitor for a sick sister, I spent more than an hour helping a woman with finding names for the temple from her husband's Slovakian ancestors. She was pleased to find three, and also to clean up some of the records through merging.

I was supposed to have a meeting about Young Elder Dinners during my lunch hour, but the other sister called to cancel, so we will meet tomorrow late morning on my P day.  I plan to be doing research at the Library, anyway.  And today I got to go to the apartment for lunch--I ate the last of the turkey soup.

As certifier I was able to help two people complete their modules, including one of the new missionaries on my floor.

I decided that I would go to choir practice, since I seem to be able to sing OK. But instead of getting laundry done this evening, I have put that off until tomorrow morning. Once I talk with my Sweetheart I will probably head for bed.  It seems more rest is in order.
