Did We Skip Spring? 17 March 2017

Today started out chilly in the morning, but by this afternoon it was downright hot in the sun! I decided to go to the grocery store to pick up eggs which were quite inexpensive--and I was glad I was able to find a shady spot in which to park!  I even used the windshield screens that my Sweetheart bought for the car last year when he came out to visit.  It is amazing what heat is generated under this mountain sun.

I was scheduled to do in-service this morning. This was not a hard one--a video from the BYU Family History Library on Record Seek.  After presenting that I headed over to the JSMB for the last day of the first section of Capstone.

Much of our Capstone training today dealt with The Family History Guide.  This is a FamilySearch approved resource, and I must admit I was quite impressed. It is, like FamilySearch, free to all and is available at thefhguide.com. There are so many activities available for every level of family history learner.

After Capstone I met with the sister who is taking  my place with coordinating the Young Elder Dinners. I took her up to the offices where she can get copies made, and deliver invitations to the Young Elders if necessary.

I went to the Library instead of going home for lunch because I had some Escalation work to get done--and that took more than half an hour. The program showed that there were more records needing attention than I had identified on my own.

Then on to the Training room, where there were some computer glitches to deal with.  The tech people did not get back to us, and I think we may have new missionaries to train tomorrow, so I hope they will not need the programs which are behaving poorly.

When I left the Library I noticed that my daughter had called, so I called her back.  The refrigerator was fixed today--with a new compressor, so it should be good for several more years. The service agreement has certainly been beneficial--a big tithing blessing!

This evening I gathered more items to take tomorrow to the Swap Meet shed.  I also hard-cooked some eggs using the pressure cooker!  They really did turn out well.

/A less than satisfactory cell phone connection at my Sweetheart's son's place resulted in our choosing to Skype every evening--definitely lemonade from the lemons!  Tonight we each used mobile devices--turned out pretty well, and lots easier than on the computer.
