By following my usual morning schedule I was able to make it to the 8 a.m. session at the Temple. I wanted to be there at that time because I knew my Sweetheart would be in the St. Louis Temple at the same time. Even though we have to endure this separation of 1300 miles, it is just nice to think that we are together in the Temple.
I went back to the apartment and prepared some clothing items to take to the Swap Meet. One item I had not thought of taking until yesterday--a heavy woolen coat. Since my Totes mid-length coat has served me so well, I only once thought of wearing that other coat, so I thought someone else might well be able to actually use it. Sure enough, someone did take it, so I hope it gets to keep someone warm. I have noticed that except for yesterday morning when it was just bitter cold, as long as I have a barrier, the cold does not bother me too much. I almost always wear layers--and sometimes I find that after a bit of a walk, I need to shed some of those layers.
At the Swap Meet I picked up a few clothing items, but I was mostly looking for containers to transport food items. I was able to get several, and, in addition, I got a big styrofoam box. In case my rolling insulated cart does not survive another 3 1/2 months, I want something for the trip back to Missouri to keep food items cool. I am glad that the time seems to be moving quickly.
I had planned to stay at the temple longer in the afternoon, but a big session made that unrealistic. Instead I came back to the apartment and did a load of laundry. The laundromat was very busy, but I did not have to wait too long to get a washing machine, and since I just hang up my laundry in my big closet and my bathroom, it was not too bad. While I was waiting for the wash to finish I went to warm up the car, even though there was no possibility of traveling anywhere. In addition to the top of the car having at least an inch of ice on most surfaces, the wheels are still snowbound! Monday we are supposed to get rain, so maybe it will warm up enough to thaw things out.
Tonight I plan to get a bit more family history done. I will also talk with my Sweetheart. And that will wrap up one more week!
