Tender Mercies! 11 January 2017

My Sweetheart mentioned a couple of days ago that my town in Missouri is due for a prolonged ice storm.  The weather has been ridiculously warm--in the 60s.  This never bodes well in the winter, because when the wind changes, the clash of warm and cold air produces storms that often including sleet and freezing rain.  That is what is due in about 30 hours.

Not only will driving be treacherous, but so will walking outside. I was concerned on several counts:  I did not want my Sweetheart to risk driving back and forth the 25+ miles to work, and I was concerned that even my dog was at risk because she could not get to lawn without passing over concrete, presenting a hazard even for anyone staying at my house.

The tender mercies of the Lord had us covered.  I called my dear friend in the subdivision, She was more than willing to have Lilly come to her house, where she will have a warm area in a walk-out  basement to stay. No one, including Lilly, will be at risk of breaking any bones when she needs to go out. My dear friend will even work from home an extra day in order to make the transfer to her house even smoother! Today she was an angel for me--and for Lilly and for my Sweetheart.

I was busy today at the Library, first checking a missionary's worksheet for Level 2.  This missionary was able to spot some errors in the answers, and also some unclear instructions.  I passed on that information and it has been corrected.  Another missionary turned in the rest of her Level 1 worksheets, so she got to shadow the floor positions, As it turned out, she not only shadowed the positions, she filled two of them!

Today I got confirmation that there is a need for me to volunteer at Roots Tech 2017.  This entitles me to the three days of the conference. I probably will not get to all of the time, but I should at least make it for some of the time.

I am looking forward to my P day tomorrow--and ready to sleep the night away!
